Ocoee, Florida- The NGA Hooters Professional Golf Tour Winter Series held its final event of the 2003 season at Forest Lake Golf Club in Ocoee, Florida. 83 players battled it out in the rain, high winds, and cold temperatures.  Erik Compton, of Miami, FL came out on top after starting the final round 3 shots behind 2nd round leader Brennen Webb.  Compton posted a final round 66 to give him a 2 stroke win over Webb and Sal Spallone of Vero Beach, FL. Compton, the #1 ranked junior in 1998 out of the Univ. of Georgia, attributed his final round performance to simply hitting fairways and greens.  Congrats to Erik who collected the $7,500.00 1st place check this week. The Winter Series gets back into swing in January at the Harmony Golf Preserve.
