Brigman
Triumphs in Texas
Midland,
Texas- Former NGA/Hooters Tour member DJ Brigman secured his spot in the season
ending Nationwide Tour (formerly Buy.Com Tour) Championship with his first win
at the Permian Basin Charity Classic. Brigman, who began the week 85th
on the money list, closed with a final round 6-under 66 to edge Mark Hensby by
one stroke.
The
career best $81,000 check vaults Brigman into 31st on the money list,
and closer to making the top 20 at the end of the season and the jump to the PGA
Tour.
"I
tried not to put too much pressure on myself today," said Brigman. "I
tried to act like it was Thursday or Friday."
Brigman was a member of the Hooters Tour in 2000 and 2001. His last professional win was in 2001 at the Chester’s San Antonio Classic. Brigman was able to hold off a late charge by current Nationwide Tour member Zoran Zorkic to win by two strokes.
