Gutschewski Wins!

Former NGA/Hooters Tour member Scott Gutschewski vaulted himself to number 23 on the Nationwide Tour's (formerly Buy.com) money list with his first ever win at the Monterey Peninsula Classic. Gutschewski, who finished 52 on the Hooters Tour money list in 2001, fired a 67 in the third round and cruised to a final round 72 and a four shot lead over former NGA/Hooters Tour Player of the Year Zach Johnson.

Gutschewski's 12-under score of 276 broke the tournaments all time record by four strokes and secured him a spot in next year's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

"I thought I could win out here. You always think you can win and know you can win, but doing it is a whole different animal," said Gutzchewski.

"There are no tricks to this golf course. It's right there in front of you. I don't know what it was but me the course got along pretty good this week."
Meanwhile, with his second place finish Zach Johnson continues his remarkable season on the Nationwide Tour. He continues to lead the money list with well over $448,000 as well as the all around player list. Johnson also leads all players in top tens with 10 in 18 events. He has two wins, four 2nd , and two 3rd.
