Lake Mary, FL (April 5, 2008)…Rain and lightning forced Hooters Tour officials to suspend play Sunday afternoon and ultimately declare 3rd round leader Ryan Blaum the winner of the weather shortened 54 hole event.

Blaum, the 2005 & 2006 ACC Player of the Year from Duke finished 15 under for the week; 3 shots better than Derek Lamely, and 4 better than the trio of Rob Johnson, David Miller and Will Claxton.

Blaum collects $33,565 for his 2nd career Hooters Tour win, and 3rd overall as a professional.

“I’ve been hitting the ball really well,” said Blaum, who finished T-15 at the PGA Tour event in Puerto Rico 3 weeks ago. “My driver has been really working for me, and with the tight fairways out here that was a big advantage.”

The Hooters Tour will take a week off before starting up again in Greenville, NC for the Touchstone Energy Classic at Brook Valley Country Club.
