Corr Hits Jackpot In Casino Classic
Buffalo Run Casino Classic
Peoria Ridge GC
June 19-22, 2008
Miami, OK (June 22, 2008)… Jeff Corr (Longwood, FL) closed with a four-under par 68 in the final round of the Buffalo Run Casino Classic over the 6960 yard, par 72 Peoria Ridge Golf Club to win his first regular Hooters Tour title.“I got some quality practice time in during the off weeks (prior to the Daisy Golf Classic in Bentonville, Arkansas) and played well there finishing fourth. This week I putted very well, and my distance control was about as good as I could ask for,” said Corr, who’s been playing well since the Hooters/Bridgestone Winter Series where he won four times in twelve events.
Corr fired rounds of 62-64-64-68 for a four day total of thirty-under par 258 and a three stroke victory over Brett Myers (Broken Arrow, OK) and Parker LaBarge (St. Louis, MO).
Myers and LaBarge both posted rounds of ten-under par 62’s in Sunday’s grueling 36-hole finale to move up the leader board. Myers posted his in the third round Sunday morning, while LaBarge posted his in the afternoon’s final round. The pair finished with seventy-two-hole totals of twenty-seven under, 261.
Three inches of rain fell pre-dawn Friday, and the already saturated Peoria Ridge Golf Club found itself with flooded lakes and creeks as the sun came up Friday morning. This caused Tournament Officials to postpone the start of round two until 7:30am Saturday morning, and therefore schedule a 36-hole finish on Sunday to get all 72-holes of competition in for the week.
Corr earned $33,566 for his biggest payday of the year, while Meyers and LaBarge earned $13,890 for their runner-up finishes.
The Hooters Golf Tour will be in Spring Hill, TN next week at the Kings Creek Golf Club, for the $200,000 Hooters Tour Classic at Kings Creek.
