Bentonville, AR (June 28, 2009)…Former University of Georgia golfer David Miller (Daphne, AL) finished in dramatic fashion holing out a wedge on his 72nd hole to grab his first career NGA Hooters Tour victory at the Bentonville Open presented by Microtel Inn & Suites of Bentonville. (Pictured left to right. Miller carded rounds of 62-70-68-64 to post a twenty under par 264 total giving the former Bulldog a three stroke victory over Jeff Corr (Longwood, FL), Nick Beach (Fayetteville, AR) and third round leader Andrew Dresser (Carrollton, TX) each finishing at nineteen under par 265.

“I just wanted to get through 17 and 18 better than I had in the first few rounds. I’ve struggled getting the ball in the hole on those holes and have made everything from par to triple, after I got up and down on 17 I figured if I made birdie on 18 I might have a chance.  I didn’t anticipate holing out for eagle, but it was nice,” said Miller of his play in the final round and his dramatic finish at the Bentonville Open.

Michael Lavery (Mission Viejo, CA) and Joshua Wooding (Riverside, CA) will share 5th place after finishing at sixteen under par 268 for the tournament while Charlie Delsman (Colgate, WI) posted fifteen under par 269 finishing in solo 7th position.

Phillip Pettit Jr. (Murfreesboro, TN) finished in solo 8th after a fourteen under par 270 effort while a group of four golfers will share 9th place after finishing at twelve under par 272 for the tournament. This group includes Cody Freeman (Afton, OK), Matthew Rosenfeld (Plano, TX), Ryan Brehm (Mount Pleasant, MI) and Scott Stallings (Knoxville, TN).

“I’m pretty excited, I feels great to finally get a win. I changed irons three weeks ago and could tell I was hitting it well. I’m just happy to see the change was worth it,” said the thirty year old first time NGA Hooters Tour champion on his Bentonville Open win.

Heading up the rest of the Arkansas contingency at the Bentonville Open were Luke Bakke (Little Rock) who finished in a tie for 13th at eleven under par 273 while Aaron Clark (Harrison) finishing at ten under par 274 landing him in a tie for 19th.
Miller takes home $35,566 for his win at the Bentonville Open presented by Microtel Inn and Suites of Bentonville while Corr, Beach and Dresser will each receive $12,247 for their runner-up tie.
