Pearland, TX (August 9, 2009)….Former St. Johns University golfer Keegan Bradley (Orlando, FL) continued his dominance at The Texas Honing Open presented by Robert Steele during Sunday’s final round at the Golfcrest Country Club to clinch his first career NGA Hooters Tour win. (pictured left to right: Tournament chairperson Allen Finley, Tournament Sponsor Robert Steele, Champion Keegan Bradley, Sponsor Joe Alvarez and tournament director Jeff harlow).The former Red Storm golfer posted rounds of 65-68-68-68 en route to an eighteen under par 270 total and five stroke victory over a charging Jeff Corr who fired an eight under par 64 in his final round to post thirteen under par 275.
“It’s exciting, feels great. This has been such a great tournament, a great place for my first win” said the former Red Storm golfer of his win at the Texas Honing Open “I had a great time all week”.
Russell Knox (Jacksonville Beach, FL) finished in solo 3rd at twelve under par 276 while Michael Schachner (Libertyville, IL) grabbed 4th position after posting eleven under par 277.
Finishing in solo 5th position was Michael O’Neal (Jacksonville, FL) after posting ten under par 278 and Nick Rousey (Pensacola, FL) grabbed solo 6th after a finishing at nine under par 279.
A group of four golfers willshare 7th position after finishing eight under par 280 totals, eight strokes back of Bradley. This group includes Joshua Wooding (Riverside, CA), Greg Huxman (Pinecrest, FL), Anthony Broussard (Beaumont, TX) and Kelly Grunewald (Grand Prairie, TX)
“The golf course is great. Great condition and gives you a lot of opportunity to hit drivers, fortunately I was hitting my driver well all week, and made a few putts” commented Bradley on the Golfcrest Country Club “thanks goes to the entire staff at Golfcrest for a great event and great golf course”.
Tyler Leon (Dallas) heads up the rest of the Texas contingency at The Texas Honing Open presented by Robert Steele after finishing at seven under par 281 while Oliver Bekker (Beaumont) and Trent Leon (Dallas) will share a 13th place finish after carding six under par 282 totals.
Bradley takes home $33,566 for his win at the Texas Honing Open while Corr earned $16,671 for his runner up finish.
The NGA Hooters Tour will take two weeks off before heading to Hawkinsville, GA for the ComSouth Classic contested over the Southern Hills Golf Club August 24-30, 2009.
