Harmony, FL (October 22, 2009)…Yohann Benson (West Palm Beach, FL) carded a tournament low round of seven-under par 65 Thursday in the final round of The Hooters Tour’s Bridgestone Winter Series over the 7,428 yard, par 72 Harmony Golf Preserve to garner his first Hooters Tour victory.The twenty-seven year old carded rounds of 68-69-65 for a three day total of fourteen-under par 202 and a one stroke victory over first and second round leader Keegan Bradley (Orlando, FL). Bradley held the second round lead at nine-under par but carded a four-under par 68 Thursday, which included a bogey on the 54th hole.
Benson, who didn’t take up golf until the age of seventeen, takes home $11,802 for his victory, while Bradley takes home $5,821 for his runner-up finish. With his second place finish Thursday, Bradley jumps to the top of the member’s money list. The top 10 members at season’s end will earn full exempt status for the 2010 Hooters Pro Series with their membership fee waived.
The Bridgestone Winter Series travels to Orlando’s Orange Tree Golf Club next week for week 2 of the season with action starting Monday, October 26, 2009.
