Earns 2010 PGA TOUR Card
Charleston, SC (October 25, 2009)…With a five-under par 67 in Sunday’s final round, former Hooters Tour member Matt Every, captured his first Nationwide Tour title at The Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island.(picture left courtesy of Keane/Getty Images)Every, a former Hogan Award winner for nation’s top amateur, carded rounds of 70-63-67-67 for a four day total of twenty-one-under par 265 and a three stroke victory over Nationwide Tour money leader Michael Sim. Every’s second round nine-under par 63 set the course record at The Ralston Creek Course at the Daniel Island Club.
“The demons were there. I didn’t want to go to Q-School this year at all,” Every said. “You want to draw back on good experiences, but my last good experience was I won a college event my senior year. That was my last win.”
With the victory, Every collects a first place check worth $180,000 and moves from 49th on the money list to 10th with $300,936 and also locks up a 2010 PGA TOUR card by finishing in the Top 25 on the Nationwide Tour’s season long money list.
Every was a member of the Hooters Tour in 2007. The former Florida Gator made eight of ten cuts and finished tenth on the 2007 Money list with $58,739.
Every wasn’t the only former Hooters Tour to find success on Sunday as a handful of players finished inside of the top 25 for the week. The list includes Josh Teater (3rd), Tom Gillis, Craig Bowden and Chad Collins (T-7), Blake Adams (T-12) and Brian Stuard and Justin Bolli (T-14).

The NGA Hooters Tour has helped more than 100 golf professionals acquire their PGA, Nationwide and Champion’s Tour cards. In fact, 32% of the players that earned their 2009 PGA Tour cards and 41% of the players that earned full exempt status on the Nationwide Tour started their careers on the Hooters Tour.
