Calabash, NC (December 10, 2009)…Vince Hatfield (Greenwood, SC) posted ten under par 206 to capture his first professional win at the NGA/Hooters Carolina Winter Series event at Brunswick Plantation Golf Club. The 22 year old former Clemson University golfer posted rounds of 66-69-71 en route to a narrow one stroke victory over Adam Hart (Blythewood, SC) who finished at nine under par 207 while Derek Watson (Murrells Inlet, SC) finished in solo 3rd at seven under par 209.
Yoshio Yamamoto (Clarksville, TN) finished in solo 4th at six under par 210 while Baxter Culler (Hartsville, SC) carded the low final round at four under par 68 to finish in solo 5th at five under par 211.
Jimmy Brandt (Auburn, AL) and former British Amateur Champion Drew Weaver (High Point, NC) finished in a tie for 6th at three under par 213.
Hatfield takes home $3,400 for the win while Adam Hart receives $1,700 for his solo runner up finish.
The Top 5 members on the 2009 Carolina Winter Series money list leaders will earn full exempt status on the 2010 NGA/Hooters Tour Pro Series.
Next week the Carolina Winter Series travels to Black Bear Golf Club in Longs, SC December 15-17, 2009, for the 6th event in the series of twelve.
