The Michelob Ultra Classic
River Hills Golf Club
September 7-10, 2006

Little River, SC (September 10, 2006)…Ted Potter (Silver Springs, FL) fired an even par 72 in Sunday’s Final Round of the Michelob Ultra Classic over the 6594 yard, par 72 River Hills Golf Club to win his second Hooters Tour title this season.

“I missed the cut in Greenville (North Carolina) and went home and worked on my game, especially my putter,” said the twenty-two year old Potter. “My game started coming around at home and in Shreveport in July and that play has continued over the past few months. “

Potter, a former Nationwide Tour member and winner three weeks ago in Dothan, Alabama, fired rounds of 67-67-64-72 for a four day total of eighteen-under par 270 and a one stroke victory over Todd Bailey (Spanish Fort, AL). Bailey closed with a one-under par 71 Sunday, and finished all alone in second place at seventeen-under par 271.

“I put more pressure on myself today than I had hoped coming down the stretch with doubles on two of three but I was able to calm myself down on the 14th tee when we had to wait five minutes. It was definitely a lot easier in Dothan when I had an eleven stroke lead, but this proves to me that I can win with this pressure on me.”

Joe Affrunti (Crystal Lake, IL) fired the low round of the day on Sunday with a five-under par 67 to move from 5th to all alone in third place at fifteen-under par 273.

Former Clemson star Brent DelaHoussaye (Greenville) headed up the South Carolina contingent in the Michelob Ultra Classic this week after carding a four day total of nine-under 279. Recent Clemson grad Stephen Poole (Greer) had his best tournament of the season, finishing at six-under par 282 for the week, while Kris Blanks (Bluffton), who entered the week number one on the money list, finished tied for 18th at five-under par 283.

With his second victory of the year, Potter banks $23,639 and moves into first place on the Hooters Tour money list with $83,462.37, while Bailey takes home $11,798 for his second place finish.

The Hooters Tour heads to Augusta, Georgia next week and GoshenPlantation for the Kandy Waters Memorial Classic.
