Calabash, NC (August 6, 2010)… Zack Byrd (Murrells Inlet, SC) continues to dominate the NGA Hooters Tour Carolina Summer Series winning his second event of the season hosted by Oyster Bay Golf Links. This is Byrd’s second win in just four events.Byrd, entered the day at seven under par and leading by two, continued to play well finishing with a final round 68 just one shot better than Ryan Tyndall (Murrells Inlet). Zach who grew up just down the road from Oyster Bay Golf Links contributes his course set up to his win this week, “I am real familiar with this course and I really enjoy playing it.”
Byrd will take home $3,700 for his victory putting him at $11,740 in just 4 events; while Tyndall will receive $1,850 for his runner-up finish.
The top 10 members at season’s end will earn full exempt status for the 2011 Hooters Pro Series. Top three finishers each week get into the following weeks Pro Series event.
The Carolina Summer Series travels to the Tidewater Golf Course in North Myrtle Beach, SC August 11-13 for the 13th event of the 2010 season.
