Final Round Updates: Potter finishes T11; Jobe 2nd at Memorial-
Nationwide Tour: Former NGA/Hooters Tour player Ryan Armour shot a 9-under 62 in the final round of the Melwood Prince George’s County Open in College Park, Md., to move from T12 to T2. But even with the fantastic finish, Armour still finished 12 strokes behind winner Steve Wheatcroft, who fired rounds of 66-60-65-64 for a 29-under par 255 total.
Alum J.J. Killeen shot a 4-under 67 to finish fifth at 15-under par, while reigning NGA/Hooters Tour Player of the Year Michael Thompson finished sixth at 14-under par. Alum James Sacheck finished T7 at 13 under and former player Matt Davidson finished T9 at 12 under.
Two-time NGA/Hooters Tour Player of the Year Ted Potter Jr. moved up to third on the Nationwide Tour money list after posting a T11 finish in College Park. Potter, a two-time winner on the NGA/Hooters Tour this season, has amassed nearly $130,000 in winnings in just four starts on the No. 2 tour.
Alums Matt Every, Scott Sterling, Erik Compton and Brent Delahoussaye also finished T11 at 11-under par.
Current NGA/Hooters Tour rookie Diego Velasquez finished 16th. For full-field results, click here.
PGA Tour: Former NGA/Hooters Tour winner Brandt Jobe shot a 7-under 65 in the final round of the Memorial Tournament and finished T2, one shot behind winner Steve Stricker.
Jobe shot 31 on the front nine and added back-to-back birdies on Nos. 10 and 11, but a his only bogey, which came on No.15, left him one shot shy of forcing a playoff at 15-under par.
Recent graduate Gary Woodland finished at 10-under par and solo sixth. Woodland’s finish pushed him inside the top 40 and virtually assures the 2008 NGA/Hooters Tour member a start in the U.S. Open.
Former NGA/Hooters Tour winner Mark Wilson finished T7 with alums John Senden and Kevin Streelman.

Third Round Updates: Potter chasing second on Money List; Wilson looking for 3rd win-
Nationwide Tour: Former NGA/Hooters Tour winner Erik Compton shot a 5-under 66 in the third round of the Melwood Prince George’s County Open to move into a tie for fourth at 11-under par for the tournament. Alum J.J. Killeen matched Compton’s 66 and is also T4 after three rounds. Unfortunately for the duo, Steve Wheatcroft isn’t coming back to the field.
Wheatcroft, who shot an 11-under 60 on Friday, fired a 6-under 65 on Saturday and is 22-under par over three rounds.
While his second win of the season is likely unattainable, current NGA/Hooters Tour member Ted Potter stands a good chance of moving into second on the Nationwide Tour money list. Potter, a two-time POY on the NGA/Hooters Tour, is T9 after three rounds and only needs $6,000 to pass alum Garth Mulroy for second in The 25. Daniel Chopra is less than $3,500 ahead of Potter, but he’s three shots behind Potter going into the final round.
NGA/Hooters Tour member Will Wilcox shot a 5-under 66 in the third round to move into a tie for 15th, while NGA/Hooters Tour rookie Diego Velasquez is T20 after three rounds.

PGA Tour: Former NGA/Hooters Tour winner Brandt Jobe will start the final round of the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio, four shots behind leader Steve Stricker.
Jobe fired a 3-under 69 in the third round and is T3 at 8-under par over three rounds.
Mark Wilson, a three-time NGA/Hooters Tour winner, gave himself a chance to pick up his third PGA Tour victory of the season with a stellar third round. Wilson shot a 6-under 66 on Saturday to move into a tie for fifth at 7-under par and five shots off the lead. Alum Shaun Micheel is also T5.
Recent NGA/Hooters Tour graduate Gary Woodland fired a 3-under 69 on Moving Day and will start the final round T8 at 6-under par. Former NGA/Hooters Tour player Rod Pampling joined Woodland at T8.
Former NGA/Hooters Tour winner Scott Piercy is T14 going into the final round.

Second Round Updates: Thompson T4 in Nationwide Action; Pampling 3 back in Ohio-
Nationwide Tour: Michael Thompson, the NGA/Hooters Tour Player of the Year in 2010, shot a 1-under 70 in the second round of the Melwood Prince George’s County Open on Friday and is T4. Thompson is 7-under par for the tournament and only two strokes out of second.
However, the former Alabama golfer - like everyone else in the field - will have some work to do to catch Steve Wheatcroft, who shot an 11-under 60 and moved out to a seven-stroke lead of Friday.
Thompson was joined in fourth by NGA/Hooters Tour alums Paul Claxton and Camilo Benedetti. Claxton carded at 3-under 68 on Friday, while Benedetti shot a 6-under 65.
Ted Potter Jr., a two-time NGA/Hooters Tour winner this season, is T8 at 6-under par after two rounds. Potter is joined in eighth by former NGA/Hooters Tour players James Sacheck, J.J. Killeen, Erik Compton and Andrew Buckle.
Current NGA/Hooters Tour member Diego Velasquez shot a 3-under 68 to moved into a tie for 14th. Fellow member Steve LeBrun will also be around for the weekend. LeBrun is 2-under and T37.

First Round Updates: NGA/Hooters Tour Alums Pace Fields-
Melwood Prince George’s County Open: Former NGA/Hooters Tour player Chris Baryla fired a 7-under 64 to take the lead in the Melwood Prince George’s County Open in College Park, Md.
Michael Thompson, the 2010 NGA/Hooters Tour Player of the Year, got off to a hot start in his second Nationwide Tour event of the season. The PGA Tour member shot a 6-under 65 at the University of Maryland GC to finish the first round T2 and one shot behind Baryla.
Former NGA/Hooters Tour Player of the Year Ted Potter Jr. opened with a 5-under 66 and is T4. Potter has one win on the Nationwide Tour and two NGA/Hooters Tour wins this season.
Current NGA/Hooters Tour member Diego Velasquez shot a first-round 69 and is T27 along with fellow member Will Wilcox. Members Steve LeBrun and Michael Buttacavoli opened with even-par 71s, while NGA/Hooters Tour rookie Jack Newman shot 2-over 73.
Alums Josh Broadaway, Andrew Buckle, Paul Claxton and Brent Delahoussaye are 4-under and T8 after the first round.

The Memorial: Former NGA/Hooters Tour player Chris Riley shot a 6-under 66 in the opening round of the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio, to grab a share of the first-round lead.
Riley, who finished 30th on the NGA/Hooters Tour money list in 1997, carded eight birdies and two bogeys during his first round. Riley, a former PGA Tour winner, picked up his best finish (T9) of the season at the season-opening Sony Open.
NGA/Hooters Tour veteran Josh Teater fired a 5-under 67 in the first round and is T4. Teater, who finished 13th money list in 2004, is searching for his first top-15 finish of the season on the PGA Tour.
Alums Stewart Cink and Scott Stallings shot 4-under 68s in the first round and finished T5.

Members Newman, Velasquez, Buttacavoli, LeBrun Make Nationwide Field-
Myrtle Beach, S.C. - June 1, 2011 - Officially, the NGA/Hooters Tour had its three-tournament streak of members going from Monday qualifiers to Nationwide Tour members snapped at the BMW Charity Pro-Am two weeks ago. But that was only because the Greenville, S.C.-based event didn’t have a Monday qualifier.
Four NGA/Hooters Tour members hope to extend the Monday-to-Member streak this week in the Nationwide Tour’s Melwood Prince George’s County Open in College Park, Md. Current members Diego Velasquez, Michael Buttacavoli, Steve LeBrun and Jack Newman all advanced out of the Monday qualifier to make the field for the event.
Prior to joining the NGA/Hooters Tour, Newman, of Des Moines, Iowa, was a four year starter at Michigan State University and won the 2008 US Amateur Public Links earning him exemption into the 2009 Masters where he finished T65. He was second team all Big Ten for three years and named PING All-Midwest Region two years. Newman has 12 top-25s in 29 starts on the NGA/Hooters Tour.
Velasquez, of Bogota, Colombia, is a rookie on the NGA/Hooters Tour this season. Prior to joining the NGA/Hooters Tour, Velasquez was a four-year starter at Oregon State University, where he set a single season scoring record (70.31). He also was named to the All-Nicklaus Team and earned Ping First Team All-American Honors. Velasquez was ranked as high as No. 1 by Golfweek Magazine during the 2010 season.
Buttacavoli, of Miami Beach, Fla., is also in his first full season on the NGA/Hooters Tour. Last year, Buttacavoli led Rice University with seven top-10 finished and was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team. Buttacavoli picked up his best finish of the season in last week’s Avoca Classic, placing T28.
LeBrun, of Palm Beach, Fla., has spent the last few years playing on the Nationwide Tour before returning to the NGA/Hooters Tour this season. LeBrun has made the cut in all four of his starts this season and picked up a top-15 finish at the Terry Moore Open.
The foursome should see plenty of familiar faces this week as nearly 100 NGA/Hooters Tour alums are in College Park for the event.
Fellow NGA/Hooters Tour members Ted Potter, Russell Knox and Will Wilcox will look to continue their quest to secure PGA Tour cards this week. All three made the leap to the Nationwide Tour this season and are currently inside the top 25 on the money list. If they can stay there, all three will earn PGA Tour cards. Potter is currently fourth, Knox is 14th and Wilcox is 24th.
The PGA Tour is in action again this week and plenty of former players are in the field for the Memorial Tournament.
Last week, recent NGA/Hooters Tour graduate Keegan Bradley outlasted alum Ryan Palmer in a playoff to win the HP Byron Nelson Championship. The was Bradley’s first PGA Tour win and his first professional victory since winning the NGA/Hooters Tour’s Texas Honing Open in 2009.
Bradley will be joined by nearly 50 alums in The Memorial field this week.
After winning 12 times on the PGA Tour last season, NGA/Hooters Tour alumni have combined to win 10 PGA Tour events in 2011.
