Blythewood, SC...Zoran Zorkic, Kingwood, TX, overcame a two strokedeficit and defeated Tommy Biershenk on the first playoff hole to
win the Hooters Classic at Columbia. Zorkic, finishing at 15-under
par for the tournament, took the lead on the 17th hole after
Biershenk made a costly bogey.  "With the water (on the left side)
I was overly cautious and I tried to protect my round, so I just
pushed it right and ended up on top of the hill," said Biershenk.
"I missed my putt for par. I played solid all week and I am pleased
 with the way I played."
On the 18th hole in regulation, Zorkic made a par and Biershank just
barely missed his eagle putt, he tapped in for birdie to force the
playoff. Zorkic made a birdie on the 18th hole in the playoff to
earn his $15,000 first place check.  The tournament was postponed
on Sunday afternoon due to unplayable conditions and play was resumed
at 8:30 a.m. Monday morning.  The next tournament will be held at
Pebble Creek
Country Club in Taylors, South Carolina for the Dick Brooks Automotive
Classic the week of March 22-28.
