Fountain, SC....Brett Weeks cards a final round 67 to win the NGA Carolina
Classic by one stroke over Ben Curtis, Stephen Ubernosky, and Jack O'Keefe.
Weeks wins his first NGA/Hooters Tour event with a week in which he really
struck the ball well. "I only miss hit two or three shots all week"
commented Weeks.
"I have to give my caddie alot of credit in helping read the greens this
week" said Weeks "he did an outstanding job." Week's caddy was a local
person who has played the golf course numerous times. Many of the players
where having problems reading the greens here at Carolina Springs.
Ubernosky had a chance to tie Weeks but his three putt on the 18th cost
him a playoff for the top spot.
Weeks will take home the first place prize check of $20,000 for his efforts
and will now look forward to the next event in Bessemer City, NC in tow
weeks. The event will be held at the Cramer Mountain Country Club.
