Southaven, MS...Once again, wind wasn't a problem for Travis Womble.
The Nashville native shot a 5 under 67 stretching his lead to 5
strokes over Ben Curtis heading into the final round of the Gold
Strike Casino Classic in Southaven, MS.
"I didn't hit it as well today but I still putted O.K.," said the
26 year old Womble. "If I shoot another 67 tomorrow it'll be tough
for someone to beat me."
Curtis, from Ostrander, Ohio, fired a 4 under 68 to remain in the
hunt, 5 strokes back of Womble. "Luckily I've played well on the back
9 all week," said Curtis. "Hopefully I'll get off to a better start
tomorrow."
Meanwhile Zack Johnson and Bill Lunde made the biggest charges of the
day. Johnson, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, fired a 9 under 63 to move to
15 under heading into Sunday's final round. While Lunde carded an 8
under 64 to grab a share of 3rd place with Johnson at 15 under.
The final round will tee off at 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
